I went to the gym yesterday and for the first time ever, saw lines for the equipment. You know what that means? New Year’s resolutions have begun. That, and we’re all trying to forget about the wine, chocolate and general fat we digested over the month of December. Bounding to the rescue comes our friendly, neighborhood LICH with three free seminars on eating healthier. That doesn’t mean dieting–I for one know my diets last approximately three months before I break down and eat everything in sight. This is about learning to eat right as a habit. Or, as they like to put it, NUTRITION. The first session is Tuesday, 11 January and is titled: Getting Started: The Basics of Good Nutrition. You’ll learn what to eat and why; how to assess your own diet; tips; meal plans; recipes; and support. It will also include a healthy cooking demonstration. So put that glass of wine down slowly and come by Long Island College Hospital at 339 Hicks Street, Avram Conference Center, Room C at 12:30 to join this hour long meeting.
