Here’s something we haven’t come across yet. Sure, we’ve got a handful of good Japanese joints, but the newly opened Dassara (271 Smith St.) showcases ramen and noodles, while keeping a playful Japanese tone to its menu. To wit: “Deli Ramen,” a soup with chicken broth, matzo balls, smoked meat and a poached egg shares space with soft rice cakes with Chinese sausage, oil cured chilis and shiso brown butter. And of course, cocktails will be served, like the Hyogo Cucumber Gin Sake with gin, cilantro and cucumber.
According to NY1, it is currently open for dinner only, but will soon begin serving brunch and changing up its menu to reflect the season.
