BoCoCa Hosts Open Studio Event: Go See Art in Brooklyn

By , 4 September, 2012, No Comment

Everyone knows we have a burgeoning art community here in BoCoCa, but here’s a chance to see it up close and personal. This weekend, 8-9 September, 73 artists in Cobble Hill, Boerum Hill and Carroll Gardens will open their studios to the public for the GO open studio weekend. Sure, it’s a great way to check out recent work from our local artisans, but you’ll also be able to vote on the three artists whose work you’d like to see in a group show at the Brooklyn Museum on Target First Saturday, 1 December.
You can find artists in the hood here , and if you’re feeling extra frisky, here are some local events to check out (courtesy of the coordinators):

* The purveyors of 61 Local, who have agreed to serve as the GO Information Center for the weekend, are leading a bike tour that includes an inside look at artist studios

* Victoria Hagman of Realty Collective will be leading a tour of studios with a focus on historic buildings

You can register to vote and create an itinerary of the studios you will visit here.
