Last year, we loved heading out to Governor’s Island and renting bikes and child seats, if only for a few hours. So I was psyched to see the same rental company, Bike and Roll, now offering this service at the entrance of Pier 1 at Brooklyn Bridge Park. You can rent adult bikes, kids bikes, tagalongs (which attach to an adult bike for children) and child seats-by the hour or for the day. So if, like many urban dwellers, you don’t have room to store bicycles for the entire family, you can still check out the bike path from Pier 1 to Pier 6 and connect to the larger Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway–just for the day. All rentals include helmet and bike accessories.
