Get Yer Easter Ham

By , 28 March, 2010, 1 Comment

Here’s a way to make your Easter meal simple and delicious. Char No. 4, on Smith Street between Baltic and Warren, will have 40 of its pork shoulder hams ready for pick up next weekend. The hams are brined for 10 days, smoked for 6 hours and then glazed with maple and clove. They can be reheated whole and carved at the table or cut into thick pieces and grilled or pan-fried. Sounds darn good, but I’ll be spending the week trying not to eye up the bread so have to pass. Orders can be placed immediately by calling (718) 643-2106, and the hams can be picked up at the restaurant on April 2nd, 3rd or 4th. They suggest calling soon to reserve due to the limited availability. A five pound boneless shoulder ham will run you $45 plus tax.
